TF Age of Extinction- Optimus Prime (Evasion Mode)

At last! The two Voyager Class figures Grimlock and Optimus have both hit shelves in Toys R Us. And I know it's normally better to save the best for last, seeing as Optimus Prime here is seen as one of the better figures in the line so far (next to Scorn). But, the fact is... I just really wanted him.   And don't worry. I'll pick up Bumblebee eventually. All I need do is pick him and then Grimlock, and that'll be Wave 1 completed (Minus the Leaders, of course. They can wait). 

Anyway, back to this figure... It is so fun to play with in my hand! It's everything Optimus Prime and more. True, there is only one smoke stack. But that IS part of the film itself to be fair. Truth be told though, when I first saw images of this, I wasn't really interested. Mostly because I thought it was a bit random and silly of them (my bad). But, after seeing the trailers, I felt I just had to pick him up, knowing that this form of his does indeed serve a purpose in the film. True, the paint-job's not accurate to the screen appearance itself (the paint's more faded and rusty, and the flames are still there). Although that doesn't bother me really, long as it at-least stays true to G1, colour-wise. ^^ I'm sure someone with great customizing skills will present us with his/her own rusty representation of this Evasion Mode Optimus anyway. And as for the gun? Yeah, it's nice an' all. ^^ I thought it was good idea to have it represent DOTM Megatron's more screen-accurate shotgun. And the fact Megatron can actually hold it is such a cool bonus. It is almost like an upgrade kit for him, really.  So, in my opinion, great figure. It's certainly an interesting way of celebrating 30 successful years, in my opinion.  Now if only his Leader Class figure was equally as impressive... lol X3
