Mark Surge - One can save them all

A simple drawn recreation of a personal scene I like from the 5th TV episode 'Ordeal of Fire' (in my own cartoon style). To me, it shows just how self-sacrificing Surge really can be to save his friends, along with his commanding officer, even if it meant at the cost of his own life. Thankfully, he was merely kidnapped and held at ransom. But it still goes to show just how brave young rookies like him really can end up, even if it might take years.

This isn't because I dislike Surge btw. I just appreciate just how brave he was at the time. Plus, this was an excellent opportunity to draw all Fire Villains.

As the lethal Fire Villains overwhelmed the sheltered Heroes along with the surviving workers, Stormer tried every attempt to contact Makuhero City. But every result became static.
“I can’t raise the Factory on comms! We’re no match for these villains!! We need to take the civilians and get out of here!” As per Stormer’s orders, the Heroes made a mad dash for the Hero Craft with the working civilians. But the villains were very quick in their pace as they flew in and blocked their enemies’ path, surrounding them all in preparation for the kill. Breez and Furno were soon out of ideas.
“We’re trapped!!”
“We’re doomed…” But despite their panic, Surge remembered what Stormer said a few moments ago. And his worries soon grew slowly into unexpected courage as he quietly said to himself:
“No Hero is useless… One can save them all.” With that, he found a gap in the blocking and went for it, heading for a pile of fuel canisters.
“Hey boneheads, look at me!!!” He aimed and fired, blowing them up. Breez saw this and grew concerned.
“What’s Surge doing??” Seeing this, the Fire Lord grew in instant rage.
“He’s destroyin’ tha’ fuel! LET’S GET ‘IM!!!!” As they then flew after Surge, Stormer soon realized the reason behind Surge’s madness.
“He’s giving us an opening. Move out, Heroes! Regroup!” The civilians, along with a reluctant Breez, quickly made their way into the ship. But furno, being Surge’s caring best friend, refused to leave him behind.
“We can’t leave him!!!”
“He’s doing what he was built for, being a Hero. Let’s not let his sacrifice be in vain.” But Furno grew panic struck as Surge ran helplessly away from the gaining weapons’ fire*
“BUT-“
“That’s an order…” Hearing this, Furno eventually stopped arguing with Stormer, and then joined him inside the ship. As they took off, Furno could see his helpless friend all alone, surrounded by these monstrous tyrants.
“Wait, I see him! I-I see Surge!! We have to go back for him!!” He said shakingly with horror.
“We will, kid.” But not even Stormer’s reassuring words were enough to bring Furno comfort. As the Hero Craft zoomed away, Furno could just about make out the Fire Villains firing upon Surge relentlessly.
“NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!”
