Episode 1 - The flames of Furno - Part 3

The red robot suddenly spoke, almost in a guiltful way,
"Oh no! I am so sorry mam! I didn't mean to scare you like that! Are you hurt?!" Sarah, who was now wide-eyed, looked up and saw that the robot was almost crying, she was really surprised to actually see a robot crying, but she also felt very bad. All she could say was,
"I... I'm so sorry! I really thought you were gonna attack me just then!" The robot wiped his tears,
"It's ok. I just don't like being feared." He then raised his spirit.
"So, what's your name mam, or partner?"
"Sarah... Sarah Summers." She whispered.
"Pleased to meet you Sarah, Sarah Summers!"
"Um... No, just Sarah!"
"Oh... S-Sorry again! I've just been born you see! Ok let me help you up." He gently grabbed her hand, though he couldn't help but feel like being a little overwhelmed by a very soft emotion, soon as he came back to his senses, he then helped her up slowly, but then noticed something on the lower half of her back where the shirt was rolled up slightly,
"Wow! What is that bizzare stain there?!"
"Wha.." She looks,
"Aw, it's nothing, just a bruise! I'll be fine!"
"Hmmm... WHOA! Hold on a second! We have intruders!" Sarah quickly reacted,
"It's ok! They're just friends!"
"Um, yes! Yes! Friends! Isn't that right Quadal?" Zib said, Quadal shrugged in response, then Zib sighed. B.J then spoke,
"So what's your name? Do you have one?"
"Uhhh... Yes... I was given one as soon as I was built... But I'm trying to remember. It's been such a long time in that pod... Hold on... I've got it! My name is Unit - William Furno! At your service" Sarah smiled.
"Hmm... Furno, huh? I like it!"

Meanwhile, in New York, everything was peaceful. All the cars and cabs were moving along in perfect condition. It all seemed the peace could go on forever, when suddenly, there was a vast rumbling sensation on the ground and the buildings. And as everyone looked up, a bizzare comet came hurtling down rapidly, as it crashed into the centre of the city. Everything was shaken around violently, and then it stopped. And all there was left, was a large crater, police and firemen rushed instantly to the scene of the incident. They were slowly examining this large hole, and the chief of police was brave enough to step closer for further examination. At first, everything seemed normal,
"Hmm... Everything seems quiet." He turned back to his team,
"Ok boys. Let's clear this area for the lab-boys to deal with an..." All of a sudden, a giant green pair of claws thrust out and stabbed him from behind, rapidly lifting him off his feet, as he groaned in agony, the claw in his body produced some deadly corrosive acid, as his body started melting. All his team could do was watch in horror as their chief was reduced to nothing but a melting skeleton, as it dropped on the ground crumbling. One policeman cried out in fear,
"CHIEF! NO!!!" And as the massive claw rose up and thrust into the ground, it dragged it's body upwards out of the crater, and it stood up... And roared at the top of his lungs. The fire chief reacted,
"RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!" He shouted. And then both him, his men, and the police ran for cover. The monster laughed insanely as if he knew how much cowards they were. The fire chief, now safe from further attack, got out his phone which currently had a number up with the words 'Hero Factory' on it.
"I sure hope the rumors are all true right now, otherwise, we're all dead!" He dialed the number, and then seconds later, a female voice answered,
"Hero hotline. Please state the nature of your crisis..."

Back at Alpha headquaters, Zib was debriefing everyone, while Sarah was attempting to get to know Furno a lot better, Zib continued to speak,
"Ok. Now we've managed to get one hero out of those pods, but since the K.P.B's are taking a little more time to fully re-charge to the point where all members of our hero team can be released, we'll just have to deal with Furno for the time being." Caitlin felt sad,
"Aw man, you mean I'll never know who my partner is?"  
"I'm afraid so! We're just going to have to bide our time until the moment's right!" John replied. Suddenly, an alarm sounded, and a hologram of planet Earth popped up, with a red flashing mark on the North end of their island.
"I'm afraid that waiting's the least of our problems! We've just gotten reports of a large monster suddenly appearing in the north end of this island, and our team is the only one who can make it in time to stop this thing!" Zib said. Furno then felt edgy,
"what team?!? There's only one of us robot heroes. Me in fact! I don't think I can handle this!"
"I understand that, but that monster contains corrosive acid which can melt humans. And is carrying large explosives on its back, powerful enough to level the entire city. And Furno... Something tells me you can do this." Furno sighed,
"Fine, I'll do it! But I'm still not too proud of the concept of Sarah coming with me. It's too dangerous."
"I'll be fine. Besides Furno, you apparently need my K.P.B. And besides, I've had worse, ever since that business on Mata Nui!" Furno looked at her for a bit, the she suddenly held his hand. He blushed for a bit, then turned his head away.
"Alright! You can come. Just don't get too close to this creature! At the first sign of danger, take cover. Understood Sarah?" Sarah then nodded.
"Ok then! I won't forget who I am Zib... A hero to the core! Let's go Sarah!" As they ran off. B.J sighed,
"I hope you know what you've gotten those two in for Zib!" Zib dropped his head,
"Me too!"

In the middle of New York, the giant green monster was crushing cars where it walked, and every footstep had corrosive acid which melted the tarmac on the road. Everyone was panicking and screaming as he rampaged through the city. Then all of a sudden, it spoke,
"People of planet 3, of the solar system, lend me your receptors... I am Corroder, king of the Acid-Lizard people, and bringer of destruction. I come before you today, to arrange, a ransom. If the planet's leaders, do not give my current master, the access codes to your weapon stations and power plants, I will, by my master's instructions, detonate these bombs on my back, and TAKE THIS ENTIRE CITY WITH ME!!! You have 13 minutes to decide!" And he laughed almost maniacally, as if he was willing to die. When suddenly, a burst of fire knocked him off his feet. He pulled his head upright and groaned,
"I see you humans are more resourceful than I thought!" And then a voice shouted out from above,
"No Corroder... I am!" Corroder looked up and saw Furno and Sarah standing on the BoardBot5000, as it floated downwards. Corroder was mortified,
"A...A TOA HERO?!? I thought you were only legends!"
"No, not a Toa hero. But I am a hero, and I'm here to take you down."
"And what of this female flesh-bag? And why do you dare to team alongside one anyway?!" Furno replied with upmost courage,
"This is my partner, and she sees potential in me, even though we've just met, I believe we have a chance as partners. And don't you dare call her a flesh-bag again! Otherwise you'll have to answer to me!"
"Enough talk! If you want a fight, then you've got one!" As the hover board reached the ground, Sarah stepped forward to help, but Furno suddenly held her back.
"You'd better stay back Sarah. It's gonna get messy."
"B... But I don't want you to get hurt."
"Sarah, I know we're partners, and I welcome you into my life, but you heard what Corroder did to that police-chief. Think of how devastated I'd be if I lost you to that murderer. Sarah, please... Trust me!" The thought of the words 'trust me' brought back a thought-provoking memory in Sarah's mind, as she thought back to the time when Lewa asked her to trust him, but she was mad at him...

"Sarah," Lewa whispered "I know you hate me right now, but I didn't do the things Mark said I did. I didn't kill your friends, he did. He's a Makuta who wants you and your people dead. We're not enemies, we're your friends. You have to trust me."
     "Trust you?" she whispered. She looked at him with a bitter face. "Trust you!? Your friends stabbed me in the leg, burned my shoulder and left my whole upper body scared and battered. Then you come along and pretend to be one of us and lied to me. You used me! Why in the world should I ever trust you?!" Lewa looked at her speechless. He didn't have any way of answering. He just sat back down and went back to fixing her arm...

She knew that all that mistrust, in the end, lead to Lewa's near-death. And now today, Sarah felt it was no more, no more mistrusting, no more getting mad at friends who are telling the absolute truth.
"Ok Furno... I trust you! Now go get that creep!" She said, almost reluctantly. Furno smiled with an honorary salute,
"Yes mam!" As he and Corroder both charged towards each other with great fury, as Corroder screamed,
"PREPARE TO MEET YOUR DOOM, HERO!!!"
